Executive Coaching

Managers Studio endorses the definition of “Coaching” as “providing guidance towards personal action and change”. Simple? … but not easy.

We like to apply John Kotter’s principle on change to our definition of coaching:
For a change process to be successful, three basic factors must concur:

Dissatisfaction with the current situation: how badly must I want to evolve or improve to venture outside my comfort zone?
+
A clear vision of where to go: what do I really want to achieve, and why?
+
A specific plan and first steps to reach the objective: how will I get there? What skills must I develop to help me on the journey? How long must I give myself?

Coaching can assist this process and help you design your own personal development plan, and provide support on the journey

Managers Studio can find you the coach and approach that best suits your needs and goals, such as:

  • Providing support in personal and professional change processes.
  • Offering personalised training and feedback in the development of specific skills and competences.
  • Helping to clarify, through facilitation and dialogue, true motivations and values.
  • Being a sounding board for comparing thoughts and ideas in a decision making process.
  • Providing assistance and support in overcoming the fear of failure or change and thus make it easier to venture outside your “comfort zone”.
  • Guiding towards the future, helping to create a positive and achievable vision, and positive action

A coach is not a therapist who dwells on the emotional or on the past, or a consultant. A coach should never try to be a “guru” offering “magic solutions”. The generally accepted idea of coaching is that it in some shape or form implies “taking action and responsibility”. Without action there are no results and our clients are actively looking to make decisions that will point them in one direction or another. Action leads to experience, change and new ways of looking at problems and situations. Through a continuous process of dialogue and reflection, the coach helps the client face their own questions and doubts and ultimately motivates them to action.

Coaching may be appropriate for anybody needing an open dialogue that will help them take an honest look at themselves, question or re-define their objectives and ultimately assist them in taking accountability for achieving their own life, professional and/or development goals.

The number of coaching sessions may depend entirely on the client. They can be set during the initial stages and can be revised according to the participant’s needs.
